Whilst the future does seem perilous, I feel optimistic about the relationships and partnerships that have been forged and the groundswell of brilliance that is emerging, refusing to allow “business as usual”, pressure on those blocking the necessary and urgent changes.
I feel incredibly proud of the team that is coming together who wish to play their part in making a better future for all. This past year has been gruelling, let’s not sugar coat it! Seeking funding partners and investment in rewilding in Australia has and continues to be challenging.
It’s very humbling to know that despite our small size, we continue to attract partners that are leaders, ground-breakers and pioneers in reshaping the world we inhabit. I truly believe that the focus of rewilding inner Australia will have a profound impact, starting with the central heart, not only for the natural world but for the disenfranchised and forgotten communities of this extraordinary land we call Australia.
